NETTLE ROOT

Nettle Root (Urtica Dioica) is a perrenial herb used all around the world. Mostly used as a springtime tonic herb, a soup or salad ingredient, and sometimes eaten as a green. Today we know that the the use of nettles can block the enzyme responsible for male patterned baldness aka alopecia. Researchers have found that using both nettle and pygeum showed very positive results in men, while the nettle by itself has helped women.

The easiest way to use nettles is to make a tea. 1 heaping teaspoon of the roots will make 1 cup. Let the herb steep for about an hour, strain, and store in the fridge. You can then apply the tea to the scalp once per day. Some have found a spray bottle to be effective. Over time, the nettles improve the health of the hair as well as stimulating new hair growth.
