HAWTHORN BERRY
Hawthorn is a shrub that is actually a member of the rose family. Primarily grown in Mediterranean areas; it has been found growing in many areas around the world. The berries from the hawthorn plant have been used in Greek culture for thousands of years to treat a variety of health issues, and dates back to as early as the first century A.D. Used also by the Native Americans to treat everything from diarrhea to female complaints, hawthorn was most widely used in traditional Chinese medicine. TMC practitioners recommend hawthorn berries to promote good cardiovascular health and also to sooth stomach complaints. Today we use hawthorn berries to treat a plethora of cardiovascular issues. Not only has it been proven to lower blood pressure by actually enlarging blood vessels, but it also relieves irregular heartbeat, and is a good source of anti-oxidants. There are no known drug interactions, but we do not recommend taking hawthorn berries with a prescription for high blood pressure, as it may cause an unsafe drop in blood pressure.
Recommended dosage for our hawthorn berry capsules is 1 capsule per day for slight to moderate high blood pressure, and 2 capsules per day for acute high blood pressure.
